WHO WE ARE
CSItizen is a student-created/led program dedicated to celebrating stories of positive social impact and inspiring the next generation of social entrepreneurs.
In lieu of a traditional speaking fee, our Scholarship Speakers are recognized with a CSItizen Scholarship dedicated in their name, which provides high-achieving students without the financial means to attend Malvern Prep a full scholarship for grades 9-12.
To fulfill our mission, CSItizen sources speakers & podcast guests with compelling, personal stories of impact and shares their journeys in an engaging manner tailored to Malvern Prep students.
The series features two speakers each semester, including one Scholarship Speaker. Events consist of a 40 minute fireside chat followed by a 20 minute audience Q&A. We believe that the most engaging way to share stories of positive social impact is to focus around what we call the CSItizen Moment, the point in one's journey at which he/she becomes dedicated to making a change.
The My CSItizen Moment podcast profiles members of the greater Malvern Prep community making an impact. New episodes are available every other Saturday at 9 a.m.
How did CSItizen go from being an idea that Cole Cherian '22 had during the Spring of 2019 to host an impact-focused TEDx event to being a speaker series, podcast, and scholarship program launched less than two years later?
It's not easy to explain in just a couple of paragraphs. To tell our story in the most engaging way, we're currently producing a mini-documentary.
In the meantime, you can listen to an audio recording of our interview for Malvern Prep's virtual Back to School Week 2020.
